Zayne’s new Japanese voice actor confirmed

After weeks of anticipation from Zayne fans in Japan, Papergames has finally announced his new voice actor for Love and Deepspace. Junta Terashima has been confirmed as the new voice behind the role for the Japanese version of the game.

Beginning in June 2026, Junta Terashima will be heard in both new content and re-runs. His voice will also gradually replace previous content originally worked by Takuya Sato, in phases.

Junta Terashima has been professionally voice acting since 2009, and is known for roles such as Shin Ichijo in the King of Prism franchise, Hisoka Mikage in A3!, and Fumiya Sugiura in Like a Dragon.

For context, Junta Terashima is replacing Takuya Sato, who had voiced Zayne in the Japanese version of Love and Deepspace since its launch. In early March 2026, it was announced that Takuya Sato would be stepping down from the role due to the expiration of his contract.

While no other official explanation was provided, fans in the Love and Deepspace community pointed to a scandal that erupted around Takuya Sato. The controversy began when his past posts resurfaced, implying he had visited the controversial Yasukuni Shrine back in 2009. This revelation sparked backlash, with outraged players in China and South Korea demanding his removal from the role.
